In honor of Studio BONES’ 25th anniversary, they’re kicking off celebrations with a grand entrance – the creation of the original anime TV series, Metallic Rouge. Helmed by Motonobu Hori, known for Carole & Tuesday, and with Yutaka Izubuchi, chief director of RahXephon, the series promises excitement. Ahead of its January 10 premiere, the show unveiled a slew of fresh details today, accompanied by a brand-new trailer and key visual.
The show disclosed that the opening theme song titled “Rouge” will be presented by YU-KA and will be a part of her upcoming Brighter album set to launch in Japan on January 17. Additionally, the ending theme, “Scarlet,” will be performed by South Korean artist DAZBEE.

Leading up to the TV premiere on January 10, Metallic Rouge is set to host a pre-screening event at Shinjuku Piccadilly on January 7. This exclusive showing will feature the first two episodes, accompanied by a cast discussion featuring Yume Miyamoto, Tomoyo Kurosawa, and Hiroyuki Yoshino. Tickets can be secured through a lottery system from December 16 to December 25, while general sales commence on December 27.
Under the direction of Motonobu Hori (known for Carole & Tuesday) at Studio BONES, Metallic Rouge will have Yutaka Izubuchi (from RahXephon) serving as the chief director, overseeing series composition. Toshihiro Kawamoto (renowned for Cowboy Bebop) will handle character designs, and Taisei Iwasaki (recognized for Blood Blockade Battlefront) will be composing the music.
For global Crunchyroll members (excluding Asia), the series will be available for streaming as it airs in Japan.
